Holiday World is easy to get to. Take I-64 to Ferdinand
Exit 63, and drive eight miles south on state highway 162 until you come
to the park on your right. You'll turn right at the T intersection and
drive along the park until you reach the parking lot entrance. If you're
coming up from western Kentucky or Tennessee, your best route is through
Evansville. Take I-164 north to I-64, and head east to Ferdinand. If you
cross the river at Owensboro, take state 161, 231 and 63 north to Gentryville,
then state highway 162 across six miles to Holiday World. If you're coming
from northern Indiana or Illinois, you're better off to come to Terre
Haute and take 41 down to I-64.
If you’re staying at the campground, you can take the free tram
around the lake to the park. If you’re staying at the Santa Claus
Inn, you can drive through the intersection and turn left into the parking
lot.
The park’s signature ride, The Raven, races along the parking
lot to your left as you approach the gate. If you have kids and intend
to experience the entire park in one day, you need to arrive at the 10
am opening (remember the time difference; they don’t recognize Daylight
Savings Time here). There’s a lot to do, and many of these rides
demand repeats. HW easily supports a two day visit. If you’re coming
just for the coasters and hyper water rides, you can arrive after lunch,
because the Raven and Legend run a little sluggish in the morning and
the water rides are more enjoyable in the afternoon heat.
